Welcome

Welcome to the Little Red Shed

We are making our grand appearance in blog form to our much anticipated friends and family and several new customers. We sell our items on craigslist and have a facebook account (www.facebook.com/LittleRedShed)
But have been asked several times to explain our story, and have a place where like my clients say, "see what is going on in our garage." So here we are!!

              >Who are we?
We are a husband and wife {SUPER} team who found a new passion and hobby to add to our already crazy life. My husband {Kip} is a student in Criminal Justice and by day a "handyman" aka meaning he can fix, make, restore anything. He has been working in the construction field for 8+ years. Which in common sense we were destined to do something like this!!! I {Jen} am a stay at home mom of two rambunctious kiddos and a hairstylist. I am the visionary (meaning I see something "trash" and see the possibilities it holds, what it could be.) My husband is the "make it happen" man- I explain to him what I see (which is sometimes a challege, because he doesn't "see" it at first- but through numerous discussions, descriptions, sometimes even drawings.) He then makes the magic happen!!! We began this journey finding and restoring pieces for our own home, but after numerous clients and friends have told us they want what we have made, here we are so thanks to them
we're here!!

          >What do we sell?
We are glorified "junk hunters, trash pickers, dumpster divers" as dubbed by friends and family. We find, and buy furniture and unique home decor- then restore, refurbish, repurpose it!

          >Why Little Red Shed?
People have asked where and why we named our business the "Little Red Shed" so here is a little fun background story... the name was an idea that we came up with from our last name "Russell" the wikipedia definition is:

Russell \r(u)-sse-ll\ It is of Old French origin, and the meaning of Russell is "little red". Also possibly refers to ruddy skin or to reddish hair.

My husband being my handsome red-headed love of my life, (wow got too sappy there.) Moving on... any how we thought it was cute and catchy and held meaning to us, it had that rustic, chic, country catch that I wanted. When we decided on Little Red, we often joked about how often our friends and family would be over and go straight to the garage, curious about what we were working on. But Little Red Garage would sound silly- so my husband thought of "Shed" although it is only our garage - full of projects, wood scrapings, paint over spray, scattered tools, and lots of sand paper... this is our work space, and maybe one day {entering our dream} on a big plot of land this little garage will be a Large Red Shed, (and I can have my garage back and use it for what it is supposed to be- my car.) but until then, this little garage in our {dream} can be our start... our Little Red Shed!

So for all the people that have asked, here it is- Our story!
Come back & visit often we are updating weekly, and finishing, finding and working on new projects on a daily basis. So come see what's going on, inside... our "Little Red Shed!"
